Does Light Relief Work? We Reveal The Truth

by Judy Myer on April 15, 2013

Hi! If you’re considering Light Relief for your muscle or joint pains but can’t figure out if it’s worth a shot then reading this article will help enlighten you. Here you will know what Light Relief truly is, how it works, both good and bad aspects, plus real user experiences to help you determine whether or not the product would work for you.

What Is Light Relief?

Light Relief is an infrared light therapy that is created for providing temporary relief of minor muscle and joint pain, muscle spasms, stiffness, and arthritis among others. Like a heating pad, it warms the affected area it is applied to by emitting heat through infrared energy.

How Does It Work?

The manufacturer’s website says that it has been discovered that years of wear and tear from body misalignment cause damage to the bones and tissues in the joints and it is by addressing the cause from the inside that you can reduce pain and inflammation. That is supposedly how Light Relief works. It uses infrared technology where the light emitting diodes (LEDs) direct a powerful stream of warm, therapeutic light deep into to tissues which increases circulation, targets areas, and relieves aches, pains, and stiffness in muscles and joints. The process helps improve blood flow to sore tissues bringing you freedom, comfort, and flexibility that you once had.

The product comes in a form of a light pad hand-held unit that is battery-operated which you hold against the area of your body where you have pain. The infrared light penetrates into your muscles and acts on hemoglobin in the blood to cause the release of nitric oxide. Nitric oxide is responsible for the increased circulation and helps diminish or remove pain.

  • Natural pain relief. No need for pills or topical creams that may cause certain side effects. Light Relief is a noninvasive solution to pain requiring no drugs or implants.  Infrared is as natural as sunlight on your skin.
  • Portable. Very handy and runs on batteries. You can take it with you wherever you go for quick relief.
  • Less expensive. Compared to physical therapy or similar solutions, you will find it cheaper in the long run as you can do it on your own in the comfort of your home. No need to pay professional fees and the like.

  • It may be difficult to target large areas of the body that are affected by pain in one go.
  • While it is portable, you can’t multi-task compared to using pain relievers in the form of pills or topical creams.

I was having crippling leg cramps in the back of my right knee when walking they would attack without warning and were excruciatingly painful. I had purchased light relief for shoulder pain bursitis and it helped so much I haven’t had to use it for at least a year now . I decided to try it on this area and after 2 sessions I did not have even one cramp today and I could walk perfectly normal. I don’t care what anyone says, maybe it doesn’t work for everyone but it has been a life saver for me

My husband I both used it and love it! Hs had a injury to his foot and I had a injury to my knee ( I had surgery) it improved our healing faster. We were slowly healing and after using the Light Relief, we noticed that we had improved faster, with each use.

I have bilateral plantar fascitis and lower back pain extending down my right leg…I am willing to try anything because I have hurt so bad. I must say that the more I use this product, the better I like it, especially for my back. I have been told I have some degenerating discs and two in the lumbar area that are hypermobile. I am very glad I bought this product, which included the larger pad that I use for my back.
